Technology

Leading-edge technology plays an important role in providing modern dentistry because it helps improve the quality of our patients’ experience with us. Our technology either educates you about your oral health needs or enhances the comfort, efficiency, and outcomes of your treatment.

Please take a few moments to browse through our current technology and don’t hesitate to call our Germantown office if you have questions or want to schedule an appointment.

Digital X-Rays

Digital x-rays are invaluable for diagnosing dental conditions that our dentist can’t see with a visual exam. Cavities commonly develop inside and between teeth, and the only way to detect them is with an x-ray.

Another significant benefit of digital x-rays is that they expose our patients to as much as 80 percent less radiation than film x-rays. Digital x-rays also produce highly-detailed, crisp images, making them an excellent educational tool for our patients.

As soon as we take the digital x-ray, it appears instantly on your chairside monitor. Dr. Archuleta can point out a problem area so you can see it for yourself. Doing so helps you understand why we recommend treatment and how it will benefit you.

Your digital x-rays are always available at the touch of a button, so your Germantown dental team can access them quickly as needed. They become part of your permanent patient record and are easy to send electronically to specialists and insurance companies as required.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras give our dentist a way to get a close-up view of your teeth and share the images with you. The small handheld digital camera has a built-in light source that illuminates the inside of your mouth so that we can show your teeth in close-up detail.

Our dentist can zoom in to show you cavities, gum disease, worn or broken teeth, and broken tooth fillings. Being told you have a cavity is one thing but seeing it for yourself makes it easy to understand why we recommend treatment.

After treatment at our Germantown office, we use the intraoral camera to show you your healthy new smile so you can see the beautiful results. We save the still and video images to your patient record so we can access them easily for reference and send them to insurance companies or specialists.

Rotary Endodontics tool

Rotary Endodontics

If you’ve ever had root canal treatment performed with traditional manual instruments, you know it can take some time for the dentist to methodically ensure that all traces of infection are removed. Rotary endodontic technology does away with this time-consuming process, making root canal treatment far more efficient and helping you spend less time in the dental chair.

Instead of traditional manual files, rotary endodontic technology is electrically driven so our dentist can achieve similar—if not better—results in a significantly shorter time. Since the technology uses a flexible tip to reach deep into curved root canals, it also helps our Germantown dental team achieve optimal treatment outcomes.
